Camayeux / Camaieux

A fascinating variety; white flowers, heavily striped and splashed with crimson. The stripes fade at first to magenta and then to lilac-grey. It is an Old Rose with a typical old rose fragrance.

      It is an attractive flower – there is another similar to this called ‘Commandant Beaurepaire’ which I saw at the market on Friday, unfortunately someone else bought it before I had the chance. Still I did snatch a Gertrude Jekyll – photo to follow shortly 🙂
