Monarda can be annuals or clump-forming herbaceous perennials with aromatic, ovate leaves and terminal whorls of 2-lipped, tubular flowers from summer to early autumn

‘Squaw’ is a deciduous perennial forming a clump of erect stems to 1.2m tall, with aromatic leaves and bright scarlet flowers above dark red bracts

These plants seem very popular this year in herbaceous borders, appearing in various colours.
