Native Woodland and Stream

Pigeon House Wood implies that there was once such a structure, but none has been found. The wooded glade is sculpted by streams that flow down into the meandering River Tywi. Ancient oaks and some planted beeches tower above the woodland floor which is carpeted in bluebells, orchids, gunnera, wood anemones and dog-toothed violets. Spathes of Lysichiton americanus commonly known as American skunk cabbage emerges in spring in the damp soil beside the stream.
