Flower Portrait: Hibiscus

Hibiscus are large shrubs or small trees that produce huge, colourful, trumpet-shaped flowers over a long season. Other common names include Chinese hibiscus and tropical hibiscus. The frost-tender ones must be kept indoors, but there are some hardy varieties that are well-suited to our climate.

They are pretty unusual. I keep trying to get a macro shot of the centre, but haven’t achieved a good sharp shot yet.
