  1. Good Grief! That is just spectacular.

    1. Heyjude says:

Very pretty, but very cold 🙂

  2. suej says:

Hoar frost in Hampshire has nice alliteration, and a lovely image!

    1. Heyjude says:

Taken a few years ago en route from Surrey to Shropshire! Just had to stop and take a shot.

  3. Sammy D. says:

Whew, I was scared those wind turbines (or our hot air) blew you away 😆

    1. Heyjude says:

Nah, Sammy, takes a lot to worry me, though I hadn’t expected quite the responses to the turbines!

  4. Sammy D. says:

Whoops, I wasn’t finished. I love it when we get a feathery frost like this; i’d forgotten all about that lovely word – hoary. Great photo!

    1. Heyjude says:

We haven’t had much in the way of frost this year. And nothing like this!

  5. Wow, that’s something we never see here.

    1. Heyjude says:

See what you are missing 😀

  6. Lucid Gypsy says:

I don’t think I’ve seen that much frost for years!

    1. Heyjude says:

Me neither Gilly, this was taken several years ago before we moved to the West Midlands.

  7. Sue Slaght says:

Wow it looks like an explosion Jude. Stunning!

    1. Heyjude says:

I suppose you see this all the time Sue!

      1. Sue Slaght says:

Yes we do but this photo is remarkable!

        1. Heyjude says:

          Thank you for that 🙂

  8. nowathome says:

    It is stunning!!

    1. Heyjude says:

Something that doesn’t happen in the Western Cape!

  9. That’s beautiful. Makes cold weather worthwhile!

    1. Heyjude says:

Cold can be beautiful when it comes along with the blue skies like this day. What I hate are the endless damp and grey winter days that just go on and on and on…

  10. pommepal says:

From the angle you have taken this shot it looks like a little animal hunkered down in the cold…

    1. Heyjude says:

Now I look at it again with your eyes I do see a crouching cat – the head, the body and even the tail!!

      1. pommepal says:

It was the tail that caught my eye first… 🙂

  11. restlessjo says:

Love the shape and it wouldn’t be half as striking in Summer sunshine, would it? 🙂

    1. Heyjude says:

I don’t often photograph trees once they have their leaves – the leaves possibly especially when back-lit, but not the entire tree. I love the bare form of them in winter.
