We rented a cottage for the week at Christmas a few years ago and this is the view we had for 5 out of the 7 days Cathy!! There is actually a lovely view behind the trees. Needless to say we did a LOT of reading that week curled up in front of the log-burner as even the TV signal was erratic 🙂
That sounds like a perfectly lovely way to spend a holiday, Jude, curled up reading in front of a log-burner. It certainly is more relaxing than most of my holidays. What a great view too. 🙂
I can tell already I’m going to love this series. I’ll look forward to each new post, and I’ll relish it. But I’ll probably only ‘like’. I’m trying to ration time spent in the blogosphere, so unless I can say something profound or unsaid by others I won’t comment. Same with benches.
I think that is a very cool image, Jude. Growing up and living in the S.F. Bay Area, fog is a part of the weather. What is really cool about fog is that it mitigates the noise of everyday life making it very quiet which adds to the the beauty of the day. And as your image shows, it creates a great backdrop for which to focus the image.
Winter trees in the fog, what could be better, Jude? Especially with that border. 🙂

I don’t often do relaxing holidays, I think I should do more… 🙂
I am not too fond of that kind of weather! I like the silhouetted look of the trees!
Fog can be atmospheric, but not when it is continual for 5 days in a row!
This looks very mysterious and very damp Jude.
It was very damp Sue 😉

Fair enough, once the sun starts to shine here I won’t be blogging as often, but in the meantime… you back in spudland now Meg?
Yes. Luxuriant chive flowers and budding Tiboochina. Sound of the surf and Saturday afternoon lawnmowers. And a head cold.
Flying always makes me ill 😦
I was I’ll a week before flying!
😦
Try ill!
I read it as ill 😉

You are quite right Patrick, fog does distort not only the landscape but also sound. I even love the sound of fog-horns by the coast!
The trees are a lovely idea for this blog Jude. There are plenty out there. How about a tree challenge!!!
One challenge at a time PP is QUITE enough 😀
They are very time consuming, but a lot of fun…
True! Maybe next year 🙂
And next year will be here in a blink of an eye…
That’s true…
Don’t know whether to click like on this comment Jude!!!! If you know what I mean!!!!!!!!!!!
The years go by so quickly now don’t they? I suppose we need to make the most of every day we have. A sober thought.
I agree no point just sitting back, we all know what the end of the story is….
Fog doesn’t feel good but it looks fab in photos 🙂 This post didn’t appear in my reader so I was lucky to get here!
That happens to me Gilly, quite often! I do a run around the blogs I follow regularly to see what I have missed!
