    Am I right in thinking that they don’t have a fragrance like sweet peas do?

      Yes, you are right, these aren’t fragrant. Very pretty though.

  4. The blossom looks remarkably like that of the hyacinth bean vine. Beautiful!

      They come from the same family – Fabaceae – bean and pea / vetchlings We have a perennial pea (Lathyrus latifolius) which is like a vine (unscented) but lovely colours and then there is the sweet pea (Lathyrus odoratus) which is scented (and my favourite variety).
