Plant Portrait: Japanese Anemone

Japanese Anemone (Anemone hupehensis)

Nalinki at Angles and Views has started #flowersoverflowers where we can share our favourite blossoms of the week. It seems like a good idea to spread some blooms across the Internet. I am more than happy to join in.

  1. What is that suspended green ball? And how did you suspend it? I love the unevenness of the flower and its delicate pink.

The ball is another flower centre with a couple of stamens attached. It looks suspended because the petals have all fallen off it. I adore these flowers, can’t stop photographing them so expect to see more!

I love how that flower centre is hanging in mid air, could you do that again?

Ha ha probably not Gilly! I only noticed it when I got home. I was going to crop it out of the picture, but I quite like the effect 🙂
