Aster novi-belgii “Little Man in Blue”

Nalinki at Angles and Views has started #flowersoverflowers where we can share our favourite blossoms of the week. It seems like a good idea to spread some blooms across the Internet. I am more than happy to join in.

    1. Heyjude says:

he’s a lovely soft blue, though looks more violet here.

  4. What a cute name! He’s really cute. 🙂

    1. Heyjude says:

He’s the best one too – much more prolific than the other two he shares a pot with.

      1. He deserves a pat on the back. ( I can’t believe I used the word “cute” twice in two short sentences!) 😳

        1. Heyjude says:

          Well he is. Cute 🙂

  5. restlessjo says:

Oh, that’s a fabulous close up, Jude! You are having fun 🙂 🙂

    1. Heyjude says:

This is one of my own too! A cheery pot of three varieties on the ‘patio’ that I bought last year so I am very glad that they all survived and have flowered again.

      1. restlessjo says:

        Sounds lovely! 🙂

        1. Heyjude says:

        3. Heyjude says:

          Anything for you 😀

  6. pommepal says:

The yellow stamens really set off the soft blue/purple petals, nice close up Jude

    1. Heyjude says:

I agree, a lovely colour contrast. They are quite small flowers too, you really only notice all this detail when close in.

      1. pommepal says:

Your macro lens is giving you a new perspective Jude.

        1. Heyjude says:

It is. And I take a lot less photos when I put that lens on!

        2. pommepal says:

          and more patience!

  7. Sue Slaght says:

Jude I feel like I need a thesaurus when I get to your posts. Brilliant capture, stunning image. You are just freakishly talented my friend. 🙂

    1. Heyjude says:

      Freakish, possibly 😀
Talented? Well thank you Sue, just a lot more patient than I used to be. [that really translates as too old to move fast]

  8. Such bright colours and a wonderful contribution to #flowersoverflowers xxx

    1. Heyjude says:

Thank you. The asters are a welcome sight at this time of year.
