New Challenge for the New Year

Following on from my Bench Challenge, which has been running over on Travel Words during 2015, I have decided to see if people would like to join me in a challenge on this blog. Jo from Restlessjo put the idea into my head. My problem was what kind of challenge? Many other bloggers have ‘Word/Photo a Week’ challenges and I want to keep this purely to a garden theme, though not necessarily floral. As someone who loves to visit other people’s gardens, whether private or public, I would love to see and read about the gardens YOU visit and enjoy and the reasons which draw you to them. It may be the garden design, it may be the community spirit, the sculptures, the peacefulness, the planting or something else. You might even like to share your own garden.

Please read through the Guidelines for instructions of how to join in with this monthly challenge and I hope I will see many of you joining me on the blog each month in 2016.

Look out for the first theme which will be published on the first Sunday in JanuaryA Winter Garden. And if you are not following this blog, then please do, so you don’t miss the challenge when it begins 🙂

  1. What a great new series you have come up with Jude and I look forward to following along. I had a bit of a disappointment today, garden wise, as I had planned a lovely day in the Hunter Gardens on the way home and also thought, “great I can use this one for Jude” BUT… it poured with rain. (very unusual!!!!) I will be home in about 3 days so I will then see what else I can find. Can we reblog some from way back?
What a great maze that is in your photo, I think it would take some time finding your way out of that one…

    • Bummer about the rain – I can empathise there all too well, it hasn’t stopped here since Tuesday! Of course you can use archive photos/reblog posts, I imagine those in the southern hemisphere will want to for winter gardens/flowers!
