This playful and useful stone drinking fountain is in Geneva’s Old Town, possibly in or close to Place De La Madeleine.

This month she is looking for stone fountains. I’m sure she would love to see you.
You’ve certainly milked Geneva for its fountains, Jude!
I hadn’t realised how many I took! They just seemed to be everywhere in the old town and in Carouge.
Well, they certainly kept you and your camera occupied! Hope all is well since the camera returned from repair….
Oh, Sue it is so nice to go out and be able to just take photos without the frustration. I wish I had returned the camera when it first started to give me trouble as it was still very new. Oh, well, lesson learned, and they do seem to have fixed it.
Excellent….we all have plenty of ‘lessons learnt’ tales….
A very cute drinking fountain, Jude. You seem to have as many fountains as you had benches. 🙂
This is true! So glad Poli started her challenge 🙂
all thanks to you dear Jude, and I too have noticed you are a veritable fount of fountains…(sorry couldn’t be helped)
Geneva seems to have a lot of fountains! Was this one being used as a drinking fountain? It reminds me of some I saw in Rome, which people were filling their water bottles from.
I think most of them are drinking fountains as well as being very attractive 🙂
Ooh very nice. Reminds me of a fountain with natural spring water we saw in the South of Spain near the coast. The water was so good and so fresh. It ran continuously and all the locals came with huge empty bottles to fill up and carry home,
We do seem to be lacking in drinking fountains in this country.
Another lovely one, Jude! 🙂 I’m watching the Strictly Proms and trying to write my 6 words for Viv. Not coming easy tonight.
Did you make it to the funeral? I loathe funerals and have vowed never to attend one again.
Yes.
This is a real hybrid. Geneva seems to be a fountain lover’s paradise.
wonderful fountain reminds me of this one from Basel – a lot of fountain variety in Geneva! good you can still find all your photos 🙂 https://polianthus.wordpress.com/2016/03/25/fountain-series-5-march-fountains-in-gardens-and-nature-the-swan-and-the-water-tower/
I don’t think I’d be tempted to drink from it!
The water coming out of the spouts is very clean and drinkable. As for the rest…

Very interesting design for a fountain for sure. It looks like a bath – but I wonder if this one was build before or after modern time bath design was invented. Amazing trip you had Jude!
