Macro Monday #31

(click to enlarge to full size)

Another pretty hardy geranium with silvery pink petals and magenta veins. After a month without the Olympus this is one of my first ones taken with the 60mm macro lens.

Thanks Sue, much sharper with this camera and lens.

    How pretty 🙂

I love the geranium promo you’re doing in your macro posts. It’s too easy to take them for granted and not see how very beautiful they are.

This is a very small flower too, and has been flowering for months now! I really want to buy some more, even the slugs and snails leave them alone.

      1. Tish Farrell says:

They come in so many varieties since they seem to make new ones all the time. A geranium specialist I once visited described them as being very promiscuous. But with such stunning results!

        1. Heyjude says:

Haha… yes I heard that they like to ‘mingle’

Yay for the Oly. Beautiful shot.

Yes, good to have it back 🙂

  6. Gorgeous macro, Jude. Such a pretty colour. 🙂

  7. Look at that clarity! Your camera has certainly come home from hospital in fine health.

    1. Heyjude says:

It was so good to use this lens again! I even made myself take it out for the day – no other lens – to get used to it.

Like gossamer wings 🙂 Really lovely, Jude.

I always wonder why when i see such fine veining, it’s so complex.

  10. Debra says:

What a beautiful geranium. I’ve never seen this particular variety or color. And excellent photographic detail, Jude. 🙂

Stunning, & when clicked and zoomed even better, Jude

    1. Heyjude says:

Yes this one is well-worth enlarging.

  12. What a beautiful little flower – I love it’s shimmery sparkle.

    1. Heyjude says:

Strange isn’t it that you don’t really notice the sparkle until it is enlarged. In the garden I can’t see it at all.

      1. Flowers are terribly clever things, aren’t they? I took some photos of our white roses and it wasn’t until I enlarged them that I could see the sparkle.

  13. boristoronto says:

Wow phenomenal! love the details in the petals.

Your macro shows what I’ve never seen in a geranium petal!
