Itβs time for another year of Festival of Leaves. This is the place to share your love for autumn and rain, for dark evenings and cups of tea, of books and all that you love during this time of the year.
~ Verena Cave

This is the last week of the autumn challenge so if you have some autumn leaves to share, then please visit Verena’s site and join in. She’ll be very happy to see you.
(Macro Monday will be taking a break for a couple of months )
What a wonderful photo of a very cute child, and a great essay in contrast. Those leaves are such rich colours and I love the way they dwindle in the background leaving patches of grass.
The Japanese Maples are very colourful, as indeed is Isla!
I agree with your comment wholeheartedly, Meg!
Oh my Jude she is adorable! Set in those vibrant colours she is a gem. Love those eyes gazing up. Such special moments.
She certainly was enjoying the autumn leaves!
Oh to be Isla’s age again! Simple pleasures… she’s a real cutie Jude.
A lovely age…
She’s adorable, thanks for posting her photo. I’ve always liked the name Isla, it one that works for tiny girls and grown up girls as well. Perhaps she can persuade her granny to pose with her next time!
I think the name has something to do with the fact that her dad likes whisky π And her aunt is Lisa.
Grandchild and a pile of leaves. That is definitely a choosing to be happy moment.
Awwhhh! You’ve saved the best till last. I can’t compete with that. π π
I know. Priceless π
She is precious, Jude, and how fun is a pile of leaves! π
And free!
Such a delightful photo, Jude. Isla is really cute. π
She is very like my son.
A strikingly beautiful photo. A gorgeous little girl surrounded by the soothing colors of autumn. Wow!
One for the family album!
What a gorgeous grandkidlet you have, Jude!
They all take after their grandmother in the looks and brains department π
ππππ
Babe-in-the-leaves. How very lovely π
I’ve always wanted a Japanese Maple but can’t find them in the desert. And what a child. Just gorgeous!
No I suspect Japanese maples are not desert plants. Have to make do with a Joshua tree or two π
No comparison, though maybe in Japan a Joshua tree is highly prized! π
Such a sweetie! I love this picture so much, Jude!
Thank you for taking part again this year, I adore your photography and am so happy that you joined the challenge. Have a wonderful Christmas time and hope to see you again next year! xxx
Thanks for hosting it Verena, it is always fun to join in and in fact we still have plenty of leaves down here in Cornwall, hanging on!! You have a good time too !
Delightful photo π
