In the period leading to Christmas some people buy an Advent Calendar to check off each day before December 25. Usually intended for children, it appears that in recent years there has been a rise in the popularity of luxury ones aimed at indulgent adults who feel the necessity to treat themselves on the run-up to the big day itself – from expensive candles and perfume to miniature bottles of Prosecco or Whisky and even chunks of cheese.
So I thought to balance all this extravaganza I would offer you an alternative in the form of a flower a day from Sunday 3rd December until Sunday 24th December.

What a lovely sunshiney image. Hope the weather isn’t too miserable and cold. 😃
Haha… funny you should say that as it is absolutely teeming it down at the moment and blowing a hooley!! Not so cold at this end of the country though.
Oh no!! It’s got windy here, but all it’s doing is desiccating the ground even more. The lawn has shrunk away from the concrete paths already. We don’t normally see that until January/February.
Too bright! It’s dazzling my eyes in all this gloom. 😦 (no pleasing some people 🙂 )
Back from t’ai chi, rain’s bouncing, tree’s only half decorated and I’m meeting a friend for coffee in half hour. Sigh! 🙂
Put your sunglasses on then! Very wild here again this morning. Blowing like crazy and raining off and on. But we need to go out to the library and supermarket so we will have to hold onto our hats!!
Tired now but the tree’s finally complete. Must have earned a wee glass 🙂 🙂
When my children were small I never dressed the tree until after school broke up, so practically Christmas Eve. I would put on a record of children’s Christmas songs, pour myself a glass of sherry (and I don’t particularly like sherry, but it was a must have ingredient for the trifle) and we’d decorate the tree together. Now that’s when I liked Christmas.
But like Topsy, they growed. 🙂 Life moves on. 🙂
They sure have! Now it is their time to create those kind of memories.
So bright and sunny-like in these days of grey skies and cold winds.
I suspect these little gems are rather waterlogged now, I’d go and have another look, but not today as it is blowing a gale and raining off and on. And when it’s on it’s heavy!!
Definitely a time to stay indoors!
Gorgeous, just gorgeous . . definitely need a bright evening star today.
Oh you poor water-logged wind blown people over there. But this sunny image will cheer them all up Jude. I could send you some virtual sunshine
Thanks PP. Sunshine is much appreciated 🙂
