This month’s Square Challenge is all about trees. Now trees are not the easiest of subjects to square up, so Becky is relying on us to show some imagination in how we present them. I have always loved this photo on the Atlantic coast in Portugal of what I think is a Tamarisk tree growing through a wall next to a tiny chapel next to the ‘Boco do Inferno’, a unique sea arch and cliff formation.
The OH and I had walked there one evening from downtown Caiscais to have dinner at a renowned sea-food restaurant, only to discover it was closed! But we enjoyed the views of ‘Hell’s Mouth’.
ooh I was not expecting another square from you! Thought you’d be caught up with storms and the next colour. What an unexpected treat – and you are in Portugal too. Simply fabulous, even if you did not get dinner!!
And a final bonus set tomorrow!
Well, I am honoured 😀
Posting weekly worked well for me this time. But I still feel a bit guilty! I think you’ll like tomorrow’s.
oh you shouldn’t feel guilty at all. You are amazing to contribute weekly.
Aha, interesting! A couple of weeks ago I planted a spring-flowering tamarisk where it will eventually give a bit of screening. But I won’t be letting it grow that big, hehe!
Tamarisk trees are good wind breakers. They don’t grow too big here in Cornwall 😊
It would be a good thing today to have a wind-breaker…it’s a bit breezy!
That’s a striking tree and building.
Mom had a tamarisk in her JHB garden, which was magnificent when it flowered. The shrub you featured is amazing!
We had one in Cape Town, I loved the blossom and the natural look of the tree.
Oh no. Sorry you missed your seafood dinner but so glad you took this lovely photo.
