During the month of March, Becky, Queen of the Square format, is back. This month she would like to see anything spiky, jagged, bristly, serrated, prickly or barbed in whatever interpretation you like. The only rule: it must be a square.

Leaf?! Wot no name for this fabulous jagged edge?!!!
I know! Not like me at all. It could be some form of Elephant’s Ear. Possibly the giant variety.
Ahh knew you’d come up with something š
Well, I hate to label something unless I am really sure.
I love what the light does to the leaf area between the veins; the patterns look almost marbled. Very cool.
I like the effect too. This was in the Eden Project’s tropical biome and by this time I was melting!
I can imagine. The little tropical house at the Auckland Wintergardens wilts me š
What a lovely fan that would make š š
Fancy yourself as Cleopatra? š
I don’t have the curves. Or the asp š xx
š
That’s clever! I hadn’t thought about the veins in a leaf being spiky. š
I was going for the jagged edges, but now you mention it, I had another look and yes they do look spiky! Well spotted.
How funny – my eyes were drawn straight to the ‘spikes’ of the veins and didn’t really notice the edges!
